Vaughan runs its own building department, so permits go through the City of Vaughan's Building Standards team and follow the Ontario Building Code and Vaughan's zoning bylaw. If your property is near the Humber River, a tributary or a ravine, a Toronto and Region Conservation Authority review may also apply, and Kleinburg's heritage district adds its own step.
